Introduction

Cracked or shattered back glass on your Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus 5G? Don’t worry — you can replace it!
This guide explains how to safely remove and install a new back glass yourself or what to expect if you’re getting it done by a technician.

What You’ll Need

Before starting, prepare the right tools and workspace.

Tools & Parts:

  • Replacement back glass for Galaxy Note10 Plus 5G (Model N976)
  • Heat gun or hair dryer
  • Suction cup and thin plastic opening picks
  • Cleaning wipes or isopropyl alcohol
  • Anti-static gloves (recommended)

Step 1: Power Off the Device

Always turn off your phone before you begin.
Remove the S Pen and SIM tray as well.

Step 2: Heat the Back Glass

The back glass is attached with strong adhesive. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently warm the edges.
Move the heat evenly around the sides for about 1–2 minutes to soften the glue.

Step 3: Lift the Glass Using a Suction Cup

Place a suction cup on the lower part of the glass and gently lift to create a small gap.
Insert a plastic pick into the gap and slowly slide it around to separate the adhesive.
Work carefully, avoid bending or cracking the glass further.

Step 4: Remove the Old Glass

Once the adhesive is released, carefully lift the back glass off.
Check that no shards remain and make sure internal components are undamaged.

Step 5: Prepare and Clean the Surface

Clean any leftover adhesive or dust from the frame using alcohol wipes or a clean cloth.
Peel the protective film off your new back glass and make sure the adhesive is ready.

Step 6: Install the New Back Glass

Carefully align the new glass with the frame and press gently around all edges.
Reheat slightly if needed to help the adhesive bond firmly.
Press the glass evenly for a few minutes to ensure a tight seal.

Step 7: Test the Phone

After installation, power on the phone and check:

  • Wireless charging
  • Camera focus
  • Flashlight and S Pen functions

Everything should work normally if the glass was installed properly.

Tips & Safety Notes

  • Avoid overheating — excess heat can damage the AMOLED display.
  • Always use OEM or high-quality replacement parts for proper color match and fit.
  • If your frame is bent or cracked, fix or replace it before installing new glass.
  • Don’t forget to check water-resistance seals if you want to keep splash protection.
